This is how close I was when Papa Bene passed. Shortly after, an Italian baby that was held out got special attention from him. He actually stopped and kissed the baby on the head. Lui e' bravissimo! 

At 5:30 p.m., the Holy Father celebrated, along with the Lord Cardinals, a mass in remembrance of John Paul II in St. Peter's Square. Many of the attendants came from Wadowice - the home town of the late pontiff.  

 

 

Another one of those spontaneous altars decorated many parts of St. Peter's Square. 

This was just taken this evening during a Rosary Service at St. Peter's Square led by Pope Benedict XVI.
